about

From August 31 to September 10, 2014 Swiss musicians Jonas Kocher and Gaudenz Badrutt teamed up with St.Petersburg-based saxophone player Ilia Belorukov for a series of seven concerts in Russia. For this trip, they were accompanied by photographer Lucas Dubuis. All travellers documented their journey intuitively, collecting all kinds of audio and visual material. The result is a varied approach to this project: a 32-minute film on DVD, a series of photographs, a short and fragmented tour diary by Ilia Belorukov, an extended discussion about musical practice between Gaudenz Badrutt, Jacques Demierre and Jonas Kocher, and a contribution from Kemerovo-based musician Alexander Markvart about improvised music in Siberia.
